About Us

Our Mandate

The Central Tax & Central Excise, Kozhikode Commissionerate, functioning under the Thiruvananthapuram Zone of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), plays a pivotal role in the administration of indirect taxes across the key northern districts of Kerala—Kasaragod, Kannur, Kozhikode, Malappuram, and Palakkad. Our mandate encompasses the enforcement and facilitation of GST laws, ensuring compliance, and fostering a transparent tax ecosystem in the region.

Economic Profile & Facilitation

The region's economic profile is defined by a diverse mix of major industries such as construction and infrastructure, jewellery manufacturing and retail, banking and financial services, cement manufacturing, aviation, and education services. The Commissionerate actively fosters a transparent and taxpayer-friendly environment by simplifying processes, leveraging technology, and promoting voluntary compliance. This dual focus on enforcement and empowerment significantly enhances the ease of doing business, supports local enterprises, and strengthens the region's overall economic development.
